Community Radio – Should your Community have its own station?

There are many examples of Community Radio and some stations can be accessed over the internet.  Community Radio has a vital role in reaching out to people and communities at risk of exclusion and disadvantage. Community-based radio, television and Internet projects work by enabling people to become media producers, to send as well as to receive, and, by working together, to reinforce knowledge, dialogue and cultural expression at neighbourhood and community level.

There is a fund for this activity and the deadline Tuesday 21 November 2006.  If you are thinking of setting up your own community radio and want to know more, here is a couple of starting place links.  Details of the funding can be found via the first link.
